Absolutely they were the applications. But just as absolutely the Democrats were not afforded the same opportunity of notice or convenience with regard to any applications that were improperly filled in. An appropriate and equitable remedy under Florida Law however may just be to invalidate all of these absentee votes.

Personally I think all votes should count. So you have no argument with me as to whether they should be counted, right along with the military and right along with the counting of the identified "undervotes". But if every one is going to be sticklers about not counting votes because say a chad wasn't punched completely out, or because ballots were confusing, or because they can only be counted in a restrictive amount of time, then a fair outcome may be to not count these absentee votes that were improperly handled. It is my understanding from what I read that Florida Law may just prescribe this solution.

As I recall from hearing it the irony was that the statute being cited was passed by the Republican legislature in response to absentee improprieties in Democratic Miami-Dade. Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants to Republicans to be smitten by the other edge of their partisan sword?
