You know, I'm paying attention these days to such empty prognostication for short candidates ... i.e. BRCD ... Here are the current P/E ratios and yesterday's prices @ close for those little gems on the get-rich-quick hit list: BRCD 299.99 $167 7/8 QCOM 94.41 $83 RMBS N/A 43 7/16 EXTR 285.42 $58 1/2 NTAP 214.67 $53 15/16 INTC 22.39 $34 1/8 The "historic" P/E valuation yardstick is 15-20%. IS THIS CORRECT? Anyone? So, with the exception of INTC, the rest of them look like extremely risky speculative picks in any market, but particularly in the current bear market environment, IMO. I'm sure I'm not the first to target the "Mad Hatter's" picks as contrarian indicators ... there are whole threads devoted to such a strategy, yes? hahahahahahahahahahaha PS Rob: thank you for your thoughts of my client/friend who is ill. While I don't know him or his family well on a personal level, I do know he has teenage/college age children and what appears to be a warm, loving family life. Even though he's worked 60+ hours a week for years, (lots of travel, as well -- recently sent him to Asia/Pacific Rim region for 3+ weeks) I have the impression that he is close to his children and certainly his wife ... I believe she's a schoolteacher.) I would imagine that time constraints regarding family life can produce quality time for those like you who make it a priority. Best, bonster ###
