It didn't work that way for the euro a few months back, ECB raised rates and the euro tanked to new lows against the $.

So honestly I don't know how it works, except nothing seems to work the way it used to <g>

Whatever happens on interest rates the dollar needs to fall otherwise we (US consumers) continue to be the only spenders out there and it won't work that way. But we sure do our part, increasing spending even as our incomes are falling...
