Though a rate cut could spur the final drop of the dollar to help us become exporters instead fo importers, it is against the stated policy of the US treasury which is to support a strong dollar at all costs. This was started by Ruben and is being continued under Summers. This allows us to sell our debt to foreign markets and continue spending like there is no tomorrow while buying back that debt with money hot off the presses. Quite a scam that I have not been able to figure out why it is allowed to continue without mass exoduses. I can only figure everyone else is in such bad shape that there is no alternative other than Gold and everyone knows Gold is dead. -ggg-

Eddie - OK, I understand what you were saying now and it does make sense. I think Don's way of doing it makes my head hurt less though -ggg- The hard part about doing it with PEs is much of the earnings in tech is vaporware. Lots of earnings from selling options on their own stock, investment gains booked in fine print of disclosers and forward bookings etc. Heck I think CSCO's earnings have actually been dropping yet they report growing numbers each quarter while core business goes backwards. How does one compute their PE? I figure if you take away all the smoke and mirrors, they have a PE closer the value of the NASDAQ and that doesn't count the risk of all the loans they have made those telecoms and internet companies that will never pay them back. -ggg- I expect CSCO to some day do a NTAP move although for now I would just be happy with 44. -NG-

Good Luck,

Lee
