Kathleen capps,
Degenerate joint disease. In my case, the hip cartilage has become thin due to absorbing impacts. The cartilage no longer cushions the hip joint properly. A small percentage of extreme DJD cases have a hip joint replacement. Most people function normally with a medication such a naproxen. Many tennis players have DJD according to my doctor.
