Huffington's article was good, but she is still missing the key point to political reform in the US. It isn't about money at all. We MUST get away from the viewpoint that the only qualification for the franchise is the simple biological fact of being 18 or older. Voting, and its manipulation in a far-too-loose system, can do significantly more damage to our community than driving a car, and the qualifications for registering to vote just simply don't exist. That is what's driving people away, as well as creating bad government.

This issue can't be solved quickly, but it is time to start getting it discussed again. Possibly this election, that has satisfied neither side, will at least generate that critical debate...
