He was pretty much hinting that he had the can opener to free those worms, in the person of Tom DeLay and his various street theater coalitions. That speech was the act that I have termed the Republican extortion scheme. It's also the main reason that the democrats do not call for any concession by Gore. The lesson was learned during the impeachment theater that DeLay will stop at nothing, he will press and press and press under the assumption that democrats want civility more than justice. It ain't going to happen. Sooner or later the ballots will be counted, unless the DeLay squads torch the courthouse or something, and I wouldn't put it past them to try. TP
