RE:"(just as Intel advertises their 600MHZ portable chips at their 850MHZ plugged in speed ratings)."

I wasn't aware of this, can you elaborate?
A 850 Mhz p3 notebook chip is really a 600 Mhz chip?

Jim

Dan, <AMD's chip would run at 600MHZ on battery (just like Intel's does) but be sold as a 1GHZ chip (just as Intel advertises their 600MHZ portable chips at their 850MHZ plugged in speed ratings).>

Oh great. How would you design a cooling solution for a "mobile" 1 GHz Athlon? Remember that the thermal specs have to account for worst-case scenarios.

Maybe AMD can sell a "mobile" 1 GHz Athlon as a "3-in-1" solution. Not only will it run all your x86 software, but it will also cook your Ramen noodles and keep your coffee warm!
