Since when can the parties to an election change the law by agreement, even if sanctioned by an unlawful court order? There's a little case going on in front of the Supreme Court right now over judicial changes to the law after an election, and the question they're considering is not even as blatantly unlawful as Gore's proposal. Why must some people insist on making up the rules after the game is over? It's an astonishing disregard of the rule of law.
