I guess we are wondering a bit OT for this thread, but I can't resist one last comment

And if changes impact retailers that severely that they are forced out of the NASDAQ game, adjustments will be made.

I had a similar theory about why Nasdaq was not going to break below the earliers lows set this year. Too much pain in the retail sector would dry up the money flow into the market these guys need to make their money. These last two weeks have shown how wrong I was. If I might borrow your fish metaphor, I'm beginning to wonder if the really big fish who will survive in the end are not content to scare off enough of the plankton to starve the middle size fish to death. Once they are gone, the plankton will return and the big big fish will have it all to themselves.
