Why did you forget Dell? Seems to me they are the most vulnerable...

Why Dell? Why IBM? Why HP? Why any of them in PCs? You could make a case for all of them scuttling their PC divisions, and concentrating on their more profitable products. Possible exception is Compaq, who "invented" the industry standard server as an extension of their PC business. I can't imagine Compaq ditching the PC biz. Dell has a passion for PCs still. They have to because they're not moving up the server food chain fast enough. IBM and HP, though, have lots of other product lines that they might think could carry them with the growth they need. Gateway is most likely odd man out, unless one of the others just gives up.

Tony
