*OT* Thanks WS....possible catalyst for VRTS for the next couple days...on Tuesday, EMC is announcing its "NAS-killer" for medium-sized companies (in Fortune 500, EMC in increasing dominant, in medium-sized firms, NTAP does well with its NAS).....this announcement is a big deal; It supposedly takes on NTAP head on, and EMC is pretty good with hype, so I expect strong reports coming out of it...Anyway, I expect the entire storage sector (ex-NTAP) to be strong on Tuesday for 1st half of day.....including VRTS...perhaps that strength will also be present some on Monday...dunno....I'm expecting a down day on Monday (for the market...after some initial upside), and, by the close, and it wouldn't surprise me to see storage compamies (ex-NTAP) to be strong...

I am also looking at shorting EMC (I used to own a ton). If it fails to break 80 in the next couple days and/or it pierces it (on the downside) on strong volume after the announcement on Tuesday....Take a look at the chart, but I think it must go back to at least 70...A clear pattern of a broadening top, and lower highs and lower lows..

ORCL...After Larry Ellison hyped things last week at CSFB, I figure it has shot its wad....I believe it is getting its butt kicked by SEBL and ITWO now, and its growth is no longer stellar....confirmation, I suppose, of a lack of technical strength in the short-term would be a failure at 28; the 3rd failure in 3 or 4 sessions.....If so, I believe it will quickly resume its down channel, and hit at least 20 on the next trip down....Any thoughts?

BTW- If NTAP goes up tomorrow and rechallenges 60 and fails, I would add that to the list to look at..

Any treads you favor for shorting ideas? TIA...
