It is not a matter of

prediction, but rather of probabilities. The lower the winning percentage, the higher the probability of electing a "disaster". You may get a Lincoln, under the best circumstances, but you are more likely to get a Clinton. And quite possibly a Hitler. Neither of which could have been elected if it was nescessary to get 50% of the vote.

In this State, we recently elected a fellow with 36% of the vote. And it was not a good choice.
