I agree with you about Judge Burton. At least he was honest about what happened during the beginning phase of the recount, however. Being a long time lawyer and now a Judge (less than 1 year) he certainly is not stupid.

Judge Burton at least had the foresight to know that all of this was going to come into question at a future date, and he had better have his end covered when those questions came into play. My opinion is evidenced by his statement today that he wanted some higher authority to begin hand counting other than a "yah hoo, let's start counting from Carol Roberts" "Which I was not happy about at all".

Certainly he covered himself with this statement and continued to do so throughout his testimony by sticking to the facts as they happened without entering his own personal bias into that testimony. IMO he did the County Board no favors nor the Gore team.

On another note. I have only once seen a Judge have to remand a lawyer to sit down after having warned him 3 times to stick to a basic premise of questioning. The Gore lawyer was very un professional in that vane.
