The guy from Saturday Night Live got in the way a lot, too. It was really evident during the Masters of War. But still, that song rocked. The Band was excellent, I liked Willie Nelson's performance, too. But to me, it was actually more like a Neil Young thing than anything else. His version of All Along the Watchtower just blew me away! I don't think Pearl Jam would have come without Neil asking them.

Neil can play some sweet tunes as well, like Sugar Mountain.

Tom Petty is cool. Almost like a Todd Rundgren and Bob Dylan mix. I usually do not like pop hits, but I still like his Refugee song, amongst others. I think I remember seeing the HBO special with Dylan and Petty, but I am not sure. But, this brings up another interest of mine - I can't wait until DVD's on concerts are much more available. I really enjoy watching concerts much more than listening to them. Even Goldberg is better on video!

I also liked the Traveling Wilbury's. I think it was great that Roy Orbison was able to go out swingin'. I don't know all of them. George Harrison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, and one other.

I saw a VH1 biography on Dylan not too long ago. Some say he sold out. Some say he didn't. I think he was true to his muse, despite the drugs and the peer pressure. And he has survived. I almost went to see him in Kansas a few months ago. I heard that it was a very gratifying concert, even though most came from around the country to see it. But then some guys from the Dead came on afterwards, and, well, you know how the Dead Heads are. Not that I mind, but I heard that the two different types of fans didn't mix well.

Joni Mitchell did some of the best Dylan songs in my opinion. I can't recall the name of the one I like best.
