QCOM trades replaces BRCM as Southern California's most valuable company...

As per the LA Times this am:

Most Valuable So. Cal. Companies.
Rank 3 months ago/Now/Name/Current market cap.

1...2...Qualcomm...62.1 Billion
2...1...Broadcom...24.7 Billion
3...3...AMCC...15.6 Billion
4...6...Computer Sciences...12.0 Billion
5...5... Vitesse Semi...8.8 Billion

Time wise, I looked at how long these and some of the other high flyers I have been watching took to crash and burn.

Company...Month High...Month Low...# of Weeks from high to low price...% loss from high(all approx)

Qualcomm.....Jan..200.....July..51.50.....26....75%

Broadcom.......Aug..274.....Dec..96.......18....65%
PMCS............Sept..255....Dec..93.........14....64%
AMCC............Oct..109.......Dec..50.........8....55%
CMGI.............March..150...Dec..10........40....94%
NTAP.............Oct...152......Dec..46.........6.......70%

For violence and speed it appears as if the best term for a particular stock disaster is NO longer...

"Has your stock been Qualcommed yet?"
NTAP, BRCM and PMCS hold that infamous distinction now.

Of course we (QCOM) have recovered quite nicely since our low which is saying a lot considering this market. And the other stocks mentioned above are still much more overpriced than QCOM is currently.

This has been one ugly Season in Hell.
