It's interesting that the number of months frequently cited is three. Three decibel gains in power ratios equates to a doubling of power. Three. 3. ...-- Very often an author or orator will indiscriminately use the terms Bandwidth and Traffic, as though they were one and the same. It's possible for a carrier to increase its total inventory of bandwidth creation, but that doesn't mean that they are passing live traffic packets. I once devoted a year and a half to dissecting these issues in another venue that I titled Total National Bandwidth (TNB). Now I wish that I'd saved the thread, because it spelled out a decent set of groundrules for discussing this topic in a more pluralistic [from the standpoint of fostering diverse lurker/poster participation] manner.
