'Morning, Poet ... just read this ...

... at 'The Options Box' and I think it scares me more than anything else at this point ...

Appreciate the poster zeroing in on this frightening probability, IMO.

I'm fast becoming convinced I should get out of long positions on CSCO, SUNW, MSFT & JDSU to, #1, conserve capital; and #2, move entirely to put-buying with a fraction (I'll call it 20%) of remaining assets.

PS: Yahoo! is crawling with humorless, right-wing, zealous lunatics whose angst is surely at peak levels re bear market. The sadistic among them become increasingly vociferous when 'things aren't going their way' ... DELL, election of their boy Georgie the Lesser, etc.

I can think of at least one SI thread where such fine, 'moral,' individuals who care so much about others would fit in very well ... any guesses which one?

Poet:

I appreciate your comments and response.

Without belaboring the point, I would like to make a few observations in return:

1. It strikes me as being deliberately provocative, not to say just plain tacky, for bonnuss to have continued to post here once the new porch was organized. If it was truly her intention to avoid being the continued subject of "unfair abuse", she could easily have moved to a different neighborhood and made a fresh start. I believe she posts here primarily to keep the conflict going and to keep herself "in the news". I don't see how it can be construed as anything else.

2. I believe the same holds true, to a lesser degree, to a growing number of the other regular posters here. They are here, to all appearances, to "show" Voltaire and the rest of the other porch. That seems genuinely antagonistic, and it's highly disingenuous for any of them to claim they are being bullied by anyone when they are virtually camping out on his front yard and thumbing their noses at him daily.
He's only human. Eventually he or one of his friends will say "enough!", and respond.

3. I have read extensively on the new porch, and I have read here. There is simply no comparison in terms of the thrust of the two boards, and recently the contrast has grown even starker. Bonnuss is only an issue on the new porch to the extent that she is able to continue to attract attention to herself. Otherwise, there is almost no discussion of her (or of this porch) at all...only an occasional reference. There is a huge amount of other content and opinion. This porch, on the other hand, is virtually obsessed with the new one. People even seem to posting here lately in order to compete for congratulations on who can go over the other porch and incite the biggest response, or stick the sharpest jab.

Criticize and blame Voltaire or other members of the new porch all you like (Poet, I mean "you" rhetorically), but as long as you do so from this board, you are implicitly saying: "We want this conflict to continue, we want to keep it alive. And if we can finally irritate you enough into responding, then we have proven how truly vile you are and how guiltless, we."

My personal opinion is that it would be show far more class and constructive purpose to create your own board rather than simply continuing to ride on the coattails of someone else's accomplishment.

And those are my thoughts simply as an outsider looking in.

Poet,

bonnie has never stopped the personal attacks & malicious denigration of people with lies, deceit & misinformation. Please note that there have been long periods where she was ignored both here & there. To date the only times bonnie has stopped was due to suspensions or 'vacations' from SI.

Feel free to stand up to folks who get tired of relentless malicious personal attacks. It is your right. It does not however, make you right. You may attempt to justify her actions, your actions & those of others who have joined the fray, but you will not change what these people are about.

Your comments about Voltaire show your bias or your lack of knowledge of the whole of his words. You paint with a broad brush, provide little if any credible, factual support, while you either selectively/intentionally ignore clearly conflicting information or you have failed to become knowledgeable of all Voltaire words & what he is about. I would surmise that your vocal support of bonnie & others here, your justifications of &/or silence toward such deplorable behavior, indicates a personal bias is evident & your own words about Voltaire (ALL of them) indicate to me that you may not be much different from bonnie & those of her ilk IMVHO.
