Part of the pressure to bring about an election resolution is coming from the stress in the stock market.
There is a threat to the economy. Political leaders are very cognizant of the health of the “golden goose”.
The chart below shows the amazing shift in investments during the past year. Safe havens, like the
financials and pharmaceuticals may suffer near term as money flows back into “silicon” and gold.


I'm noticing on the Sunday morning news shows today that political pundits from both sides are mentioning the stock market's weakness as a reason for a swift end to the election situation. Too bad they didn't think about this three weeks ago. <g> What's going to be interesting is that, once the election results are known and the market has digested the news, the ultimate direction of the market seems to be very likely still headed down for the long term.
