Michael,

We have a set of rules in each state that needs to be followed regardless of the outcome.

The situation in Florida is different. The vote is a statistical tie, with many more ballots in dispute than the delta. There is no reasonable way to determine the winner.

Your frustration comes from the fact that you believe more voters went to the polls to vote for Gore. Maybe that is true but it really doesn't matter. You have to just accept the inevitable defeat as graciously as possible for the good of the country.

Letting Bush steal the election is not a good outcome for the country. It is quite clear that Katherine Harris had no right to block the hand recounts during the week after the election. The Miami-Dade election board was afraid they would be breaking the law, and did not start a recount until it was too late.

You only propose that because your side would win.

Bush will only reject this because it would make him lose.
