Elmer, why bother? Scumbria is obviously holding a grudge from the days he worked on the Power PC. He just can't get over the fact that Intel cleaned Moto's clock in the PC arena. For him, its not about reality, its about "what's right (in his own mind)". Ditto for politics.

I have no financial interest in AMD or Intel. I have a PIII on my desk at work. I have only used an AMD CPU once in my life.

My interest in CPUs is limited to technical matters.

I harshly criticized the Cyrix MXi on SI. Same for the K6. I heaped praise on Coppermine, and initially on Willy- until I discovered some of the lousy tradeoffs that have been made.

In case you haven't noticed, the trade press has been rather critical of Willy as well. Apparently we don't share the grand dream of the possible performance gains that recompilation can provide. I've been hearing that story from Alpha people for about a decade now.
