Public apothy being what it is, I agree that things will not go that far but they just might. No one has experienced anything like this before and I have always said that Americans only need a galvanizing event to draw the best and worse from us all. This may just be that event to cause change. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way saying that the Feds should take away the states rights, only to guide them concerning Federal elections only when that election will effect the entire country, then the entire country should be doing things under the same rules. As you stated, the chances of that happening in all fifty states on their own is silly, thus the need for Federal standards that override state standards. Their state and local elections would still be their own under their own rules and cannot be trodden on.
