She won by over 2000 votes.

A landslide in Florida proportions.

Have you had a chance to watch any of the FL Supreme Ct hearings? Most of its pretty dry but there is some interesting testimony nonetheless. One of Bush's star witnesses ended up reinforcing several Gore issues when some new evidence was brought to the Court's attention during his testifying.

Another witness, a Republican canvassing supervisor from Naussau County, found a 200+ vote error on 11/8 after the machine recount and spent the next 2 weeks asking people in Tallahasee what she should do. Well, the Secretary of State's office finally told her to hold a meeting of the canvassing committee and let them decide what to do. The committee chose to meet the day after Thankgiving at 8:30 AM. They gave the required 24 hour notice on Thanksgiving. Something she thought was perfectly reasonable.

Then, on Friday at 8:30 sharp, they met and opted to approve the vote count with the 200 vote error and send it to the Secretary of State for certification. Its amazing how easily the issue of accuracy was swept under the table. BTW the supervisor had 20 years under her belt...and that was best she could do...pitiful.
