Another note on investment losses, is that they are only losses if the investments are sold.. Many companies that have significant company stock investments are selling covered calls on the stock...generating investment gains.. And the value of the underlying stock makes no real difference... they can collect a ten percent per month premium on their stock selling the calls and it doesnt matter if the stock keeps going down..
