Most of the dark fibres crossing the Pacific may never be used at all and be supplemented by higher capacity new dark fibres. No big telecom with negative cashflow has blown up yet, and thus we do not know the market clearing price of unused capacity and true utilization expectation. I will wait.

Do you know about GX? How usable their dark fiber is? I am trying to find out why the stock has gone down like a rock. The people on the GX thread of course say it is because the market is too stupid to recognize the value. But they said the same thing when it was at 50 bucks (really!). I feel something has to "give" in that story, but don't know what it is.

so.....the ramp is moving so fast it is injuring itself by creating faster capacity on top of capcity that not only wasn't used but remains dark..... now that's a strange sort of technology curve + financial implications.....

which leads to a host of other questions in the software hardware areana...

not tonite....but it might be fun to ask them later if you remind me....

regards
