The slips some of them make are pretty funny. Sometimes the way they say things can be misconstrued.

The absolute worst slip I ever heard a politician make was in a race for Texas agricultural commissioner. I forget the incumbent's name but he committed a couple of gaffs.

One was when he placed his hand in a fire ant mound while proclaiming that Texas didn't have a fire ant problem. He was subsequently hospitalized.

The worst was when he was giving a speech in Houston I believe. He was referring to Booker T. Washington and said" Booker T. Washington, that great black nig***."

He realized it immediately and tried to cover but it was too late. He was being videotaped by the local news and it was broadcast throughout the state on the evening news.
