Vol - Well it is one of those "Once in a Lifetime" events in the market. The position can be sumarized:_ 1. Election uncertainty. Getting more bizzare by the day BUT conclusion likely within eight days maybe sooner. Good news and calming. 2. Economy. John Connor dropped the market and if what he sees is right and I don't see how it isn't then the World economy is in incipient recession. As that manifests itself in earnings warnings especially from Dow stocks then the market will drop further, probably quite a lot further. Mr G has certainly 'slowed' the US economy but in the process has put the brakes hard on the rest of the World as well. I guess all that has really happened is that the Asia contagion didn;'t get fixed as much as had a band aid on it and now we are going to see it really collapse. Mr G will probably say that its not his job to worry about the rest of the World so.... 3. NAZ. Well my guess is that a lot of overseas money is now leaving the NAZ. Europe doesn't look so bad in this climate. My guess is that leaving will acclerate as we get into the month of December and the market. 4. Mr G. Well that is the one bright spot. My guess is that once the election is finalized he will act and that will put in the bottom. If he doesn't we have almost all the ingedients for a full blown depression as the collapse feeds on itself. I haven't heard anyone ask Abby nor have I seen her comment on the rapidly slowing Wolrd economy and the effect that that would have on the US. In other words what is just around the corner is so dire that he mught just forget about his obsession with "Irrational Exhuberance" and stop the economy from imploding. Best regards, L
