Ok, let's split California.

I have no problem with splitting electors. Let's do it for the whole country, and inaugurate the rightful candidate in January. (Gore + Nader wins.)

Regardless, you missed the point. Florida ended in a statistical tie (assuming you accept several thousand illegal Republican absentee ballots, and ignore several thousand accidental Buchanan votes.) We won't know for several months who really captured the most votes, and splitting the electors is a generous concession to the Bush people.

Were you under the impression that California also ended in a tie?
