lkj, I'm not clear on your point(s). This is a forum to discuss PDA's. Not everyone's views will be correct. It sounds like you are confident in your beliefs. I think that's great. I'll express my views knowing that I will be wrong on many accounts. Nothing more, nothing less.

My $500 PDA plays MP3" will be the last reason that CE beats out PALM You're right. I was just in the market for an MP3 player...looked at CE...looked at PALM and HAND addons...bought a dedicated player (Nomad II MG). The idea of a combined unit was tempting, but the reality was about as appealing as shoving an eight-track deck into my laptop.

khan, "All I am asking this thread, and particularly you Advalorem, is to focus more on the big picture." first, let me say that that is precisely what i am focused on. but let me also say that perhaps the people who are slicing and dicing every little feature and rebate are people who are in for the short term. maybe this sort of scrutiny is important to them because they want to know who is going to be on top next quarter. that's the only reason i can come up with for some of the hand-wringing i see here. i've seen some folks here change their mind on what they think is the best handheld (if there even is such a thing) every week. sometimes from one post to the next. your call for seeing the big picture is for folks who are long term investors. many PALM holders fit this category. jmo :) mark
