Pam, thanks. Actually I think I did follow the directions in the post I quoted. The directions you post are quite different and no doubt perfectly effective. Anyway, no big deal. The password window doesn't even bother me, just wanted to see what would happen. I was a little surprised this morning but I have actually had quite an enjoyable day sorting it all out. Coincidentally my isp was having a big problem and my connection was acting very weird and my email wouldn't work so that made the situation more interesting. Fortunately I remained calm and talked to the isp and found out about their server problems, which got fixed relatively quickly. In the process of finding my settings etc I decided to up my screen res to 1600 x 1200 and just finished resizing icons, taskbar fonts and buttons etc so my monitor is looking better than ever!! All of which indicates A) I've got waaaay too much time on my hands B) I am more of a computer geek than I've been letting on or C) I'm getting too old to get upset over much of anything <g>. Thanks so much for your excellent directions and kind consideration. best, Rick ps. Is SI unreal slow right now or is it just my as yet not fully reconfigured computer?
