At this point, this is one of those situations that indicate that even if you're "proven" right, what benefit is it if you cause havoc?

Personally, I think now, in retrospect, he would have gotten more mileage as a martyr had he just bowed out and let distant minions do all the work behind the scenes to prove he won, while publicly calling for support to the "Great Unificator". Then, Gore could be sainted if after proof were found, he said something like: "That doesn't matter now, we must all support our President"

I think Gore was ill served by his advisors who failed to point out that the litigation would drag on and that the Republicans always had the legislature trump card and 3 USC 15 on their side.[Congressional right and responsibility to accept only the elector slate blessed by the Governor of the state. It also happens to be an authority that is non-justiciable] Damn, am I starting to sound like a lawyer? Perish the thought<g>

Of course, I didn't learn those things until the process got started, so perhaps those advisors were in the same boat.

Thoughts on this market Vendit??

Personally, I think Al has already lost all semblance of honor. All he wants to do now is damage George W. Bush as much as he can before he walks away.
