tc, thank you for the outlook express site. i did not peruse it yet, but i have bookmarked it and will hopefully remember it as the definitive source for oe info. eventually, i will have to get up to speed with that email client if i intend to switch to ie. i do have one other strong attraction to netscape, and that is the way it handles bookmarks. alphabetizing favorite places makes next to zero sense to me. re helping your bud with his new pc, i feel bad for you, man. trying to help and nothing seems to cooperate. then he calls you and kicks the isp download connection! whew. that's a tough one to smile through. good luck :) mark
