I believe that until watching Democrat body language this weekend including gore's. I believe now that the democrats know the outcome and are doing this to appease the left.

actually think that there will be a quid quo pro with Bush forces when Gore pulls out giving dems some concessions in congress perhaps in leadership, perhaps in making policy. Both sides have to know that gridlock needs to be transformed to consensus--2 sides of the same coin. This will yield a half bush tax cut, prescription drug plan etc. rather than filibusters and vetoes which were the hallmark of the clinton admin. Gridlock worked only because reducting the debt was a good end in itself. Now reducing debt can make the landing hard.
