Sure its sour grapes, but this time they mean it. All the chads and undercounts and court cases aside, its pretty clear that the people of Florida would have gone for Gore by several thousand votes if the voter's intent had been accurately recorded and counted. There is an old saying that "All politics are local", and moderate Democrats that may have voted for Republicans in local and state elections will remember the screwing in Florida and go for the fuzzy headed liberal rather than the the level headed pillar of the community businessman when it comes time to vote for the state house, state AG, city council, local judges, etc. Also, the Democratic candidates may be able to get their less affluent constituency to did a little deeper when it comes time to ante up for the next election cycle.

Its very rare that the "bums get turned out in droves", but something like this election could very well serve as the catalyst to cause the Democratic voters to feel their oats and show up to the next election after extensive preparation on which hole represents the Democratic candidate.
