Poet, I don't want to buy QQQ calls but I prefer to try picking individual stocks. Trying to stick to shares as much as possible.

Short term calls are risky.

However, I might try December calls given the amount of wreckage in tech in the last 3 months.
Looking at the semis and stocks like JDSU, PMCS, VTSS, JNPR, GLW as the time premium in the options prices starts dropping. I want to avoid the low volatility stocks for short terms options trading. Those would be low growth stocks that may not gain much in the current environment.

I think PMCS, JDSU are poised for nice moves up. I am very cautious on MSFT, INTC and boxmakers and that could hold the QQQs back.
