Reduction in spending is not even conceivable in your universe?

a larger deficit can only be avoided by raising taxes

Manipulating tax rates to mess with the economy is just a bad idea. I never advocated raising rates either. Why does everyone feel they have the right to put words into my mouth?

and for the last time I AM NOT A DEMOCRAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps I read a greater deal of sarcasm into your post than you had intended, apologies.

I would definitely not advocate lowering taxes and interest rates in an inflationary environment. Nor would I advocate raising rates in a recessionary period. I am simply saying that taxes should be a non issue issue in economic policy right now. Prosperity is relative to the period that preceeded it.
