Good reward/risk ratio. Buying ATML for the heck of it. They produce chips for digital cameras, wireless LANS, smart cards, etc.

SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec 1, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Atmel Corporation
(Nasdaq:ATML) commented today that based on October and November results
to-date, the fourth quarter remains in line with guidance provided during the
company's most recent quarterly earnings conference call.

George Perlegos, Atmel's president and chief executive officer, stated, "We see
very strong demand for Atmel devices used by a wide variety of products such as
digital cameras, fingerprint sensors, wireless LANs for networking products, and
secure smart cards for e-commerce and PC security applications."

"We also see strong market growth for new applications in e-commerce, security
and hand-held devices, many of which are wireless. Atmel has the products to
meet the needs of our customers in these fast-growing markets, and to expedite
