Its a small absolute victory for Bush , but a huge relative defeat for Gore...whose time is growing shorter and shorter...and who loses this in the court of public opinion

Dear Chalu2: As we sit here this moment YES, this IS a Reversal. The US Supreme Court VACATED the FSC decision. That means they overturned it however they asked the FSC to tell them if they relied on the Fla. Constitution or the Fla Legislator. Seems to me either way the FSC is stuck. The Federal law requires that they MUST rely on the Fla. Legislature I guess we all know how the Fla. Legislature feels.
Now, the question in MY MIND is this: By vacating the FSC decision it has caused the CONTEST filed by Gore team to have been filed LATE. ie MUST BE FILED within 5 days of the original 11/14 date (I believe). So, perhaps the Leon County Judge will merely rule that the case was not filed timely and therefor is not available for remedy. JDN

The SC opinion in lay terms means that they don't understand the Fla SC decision and need more understanding to render any decision. In effect, they "punted".
