Hi SbH - yes, many shades and hues here :)! It really depends on the predisposition of the listeners. One thing I know for sure, if your spouse or partner says something like that to you, you are in big trouble <VBG>! OTOH, brandying double negative like "not inconsistent" really take the edge off [except for the double negative in conjunction with the verb-to-be 'can', which will turn a possibility into an imperative, i.e., "I can do that" and "I cannot not do that" are not the same! But I ve digressed :).] Anyway, it is possible that Mr Market thinks VP Gore's chance is getting slimmer by the minute. Dec 12th is only a week away from tomorrow, it may require a substantial reversal of fortune. Not sure how it will impact my battered portfolio though. best, Bosco
