the more i think about it, today's US Supreme Court decision, extends the court's balancing act in participating and doing nothing in this case except to strut around in ugly nightgowns.

jim willie is right - the US Supreme Court had to be gentle with the Florida Supreme Court if the Florida Supreme Court is going to be the ultimate authority in deciding the election.

the US Supreme Court also knew that their decision would appear to be a repudiation of gore and a boost to bush, whereas it is really gore who won the battle but it sure looks like he lost the war.

the US Supreme Court decision today is just like the professor giving the student an incomplete because the student's list of sources was not with the thesis.

the Florida Supreme Court will cite their sources, gore will get his votes back, the US Supreme Court will in fact have substantiated gore's claims and nobody will care.

the US Supreme Court did its cameo appearance, blew in, blew out, did nothing, did it all.
