Tommasso, There are over 12,000 MW of capacity down right now in California due to maintenance, repair, etc. That lower capacity has caused California Day Ahead power prices to be pegged all day long at $250 MWh (25 cents per kilowatt hour)"Flatline City"--Ouch! "Buddy- Can you spare a kilowatt"??

So NG must be going into the residential markets and not the power markets...Still....California is paying a heavy price for its land use and environmental restrictions that it placed upon development 5-10 years ago.

Finally I saw that Gray Davis is looking at a public power take over of the California power market place...Not sure if that's PR or serious talk....
