<< Game, set and match. Stick a fork in it, this turkey is cooked. Goodbye Janet Reno, David Boies, Joel Klein, and sleepy senile Judge Jackson. This farce of an anti-trust trial, one that has cost so much in so many ways, is toast. >>

I believe this is a likely scenario; one that I'd like to explore in more detail. If the DOJ case takes a strong turn in favor of MSFT, I believe that the stock will react quite positively.

How quickly will Bush move to restructure the DOJ? When do appointments like Janet Reno's replacement take place? What's the timeline of this and what's the timeline of the appeal? Is there a good chance that a new DOJ will be in place before the case comes to conclusion? My feeling is that the new administration will steer the DOJ towards settling (with minor repercussions for MSFT).

TIA,
Dave
