Art - RE: Put another way, the profitable component stocks in NASDAQ do not appear overpriced at all--underpriced if anything. For just one example of this, check out Lam Research (LRCX). It's selling for 8x earnings and has beaten estimates for last 5 consecutive quarters. It's around 14 3/4 now -- was over 55 earlier this year. Who knows - it could go even lower.
(Disclaimer: Yes, I own it -- just bought it.)

Amazon Top 100

Please look at device types, not just whether or not
they happen to use flash memory or SanDisk cards.

my take...

Digital Photography is irresistable and increasingly affordable.

The installed based of early generation B&W PDA's is growing rapidly.

MP3 players based on flash solutions are selling well even above the $200 price point.

In the future I see floppy Mavica users upgrading from 640 x 480
resolution "paper weights" to multi-megapixel flash-based cameras,
Palm and Handspring users upgrading to color PDA's with
standard flash memory slots, and millions of youths upgrading
from 32 and 64 MB on-board Rio! players to MP3 players with
SanDisk TriFlash on-board and dual stacked MMC slots.

<On Topic ... for a change> Art, re: "the 1972-1974 bear market."

The NASD is plummeting downward toward an S&P uptrend. 'Net stocks and .COMs are dead meat (for good reason) while "good tech stocks" are being dragged down with them.

finance.yahoo.com^IXIC&d=5y&x=on

Equilibrium, will occur when the two meet in the near future. After a brief period when the markets are oversold, tech stocks with earnings will rise to the top. It happens over and over and over again. Been there, done that, and it still iritates my colon.

My best to all who read this post.

After watching your net worth hit the dumper, my only advice is to be sure to take plenty of TUMS -- and a Magnesium suppliment too. Reminder: "Calcium for strong bones and teeth; Magnesium for strong bones and a healthy nervous system (aka the ability to sleep)."
