Gopher, I am not sure of any of this, however I suspect AMD is gusrading it's flanks. In addition the shortage will be temporary as Isonics is ramping production with outside partners such as Eagle Picher.
Isonics cares noy who makes the Si28, they get a royalty anyway. I suspect they also want to be a large supplier. their production base is in the USSR right now, so they are looking to expand their own production but i do not know any of those details.
