Yes, but aren't those all reasons why Gore should happily give up the Presidency now?

And by the way, Bush isn't going to decline the Presidency.

Well, you and I both know that will never happen.

I repeat, though, I would absolutely NOT want to be in his shoes when the ballots are eventually counted. No way.

Agree with your presidency scenario.
And it will be the country as a whole that pays the price.

<<I still think Bush's absolute best political move is to decline the presidency by staking out the absolute moral high ground, claiming in his heart of hearts he believes Gore got more votes than he did in Florida.>>

you should CALL Mr. Bush IMMEDIATELY and relay your brilliant strategy to him AT ONCE! either that, or consider easing off those 'meds'

LOL

Yes, it's common practice for an election winner to concede, just like Gore/Boies were blaming Bush for not demanding hand recounts even though he came out ahead in Florida after the statewide recount. "I won. I demand a recount." I can just imagine what fun you Demolibs would have had with Bush if he'd done that. And this is Alice in Wonderland, where we first grant the remedy and then have a trial.
