01/12 2:02P Canada Southern Suit Final Arguments To Be Heard Feb 6

CALGARY (Dow Jones)--Canada Southern Petroleum Ltd. (CSPLF) said final
arguments in its Kotaneelee gas field lawsuit will be heard on Feb. 6.
In a press release, the company said it will probably be "at least late
2001" before a decision is rendered.
As reported, Canada Southern has a 30% interest in the field, which is in
the Yukon. It claims that BP Amoco PLC's (BP) Amoco Canada Petroleum Co. unit
and other parties failed to develop the field in a timely manner.
A company spokesman said the lengthy dispute has cost Canada Southern about
C$10 million.
Canada Southern is an oil and gas company.
