INTU...rumores had intu going into sp500...now fact Monday December 4 7:04 PM ET Standard & Poor's Sets Changes to S&P500 NEW YORK (Reuters) - Standard & Poor's on Monday said four companies from the S&P500 Index will be replaced by four companies from its MidCap 400 index. Standard & Poor's said utility holding company Allegheny Energy Inc. (NYSE:AYE - news), municipal bond insurer Ambac Financial Group Inc. (NYSE:ABK - news), bar-code scanner maker Symbol Technologies Inc. (NYSE:SBL - news) and software maker Intuit Inc. (NasdaqNM:INTU - news) will be added to the S&P500 Index after the market closes on Dec. 8. Those companies will replace steelmaker Bethlehem Steel Corp. (NYSE:BS - news), packaging products supplier Crown Cork & Seal Co. Inc. (NYSE:CCK - news), specialty chemical producer W.R. Grace & Co. (NYSE:GRA - news) and container maker Owens-Illinois Inc. (NYSE:OI - news), who are all being dropped from the index for lack of representation.
