Scumbria,

Right or wrong aside, it would not be good for the country if Gore were to "win". The perception is that Bush has won; if Gore were to take it on a technicality, even Democrats would cry foul. And the Elmer's and Joe's, the radical right, would make compromise impossible.

Give it up, in two years the Democrats will control both houses, in four years they will probably have the Presidency as well. And nothing significant will happen under Bush. It's the best result, from your perspective.

John

Scumbria, <The harder Gore fights, the better it will be long term. Especially if he can make Bush look really bad in the process. >

Sounds like the textbook strategy of a Sore Loserman. The only reason why Gore fights now is to bring Bush down with him, even if his hopes of winning the presidency are close to nil.

But I guess Gore personally has nothing to lose now. Too bad the Democrats still have a lot to lose from Gore's antics.

Scumbria,

The harder Gore fights, the better it will be long term. Especially if he can make Bush look really bad in the process.

You may be well in tune with the Clinton / Gore view of the world, where the a$$holes prevail because gentlemen rather yield than step to the level of the a$$holes.

It works well as long as the gentlemen are content to losing to the a$$holes of the world, which in the long run is not going to happen. As a result, there will be no more "nice guys" or gentlemen, only a$$holes. It's not the world I want my daughter to grow up in, so on this count you win.

Joe
