Everything hinges now on Judge Nikki Clark. Will she throw out thousands of
absentee ballots because the Republican staffers filled in the missing voter ID numbers
so the county election board staff could mail ballots to the absentee voters?

It doesn't hinge on that. It hinges on whether, if she does that, the FSC will overturn her because it is on record as saying that votes should count, and if they don't, whether Harris and Jeb will certify the Gore slate, and/or whether the legislature will appoint the Bush delegates anyhow because they believe in following the will of the people and the will of the people was that Bush won.

The fat lady is still in her dressing room. She's getting her dress on, but it takes a while (she IS fat, after all), and she hasn't even started putting her makeup on.

When is the 11th Circuit Court to decide on manual recounts?

If they rule that they cannot continue, what can the Florida Supreme Court do?

I agree that the whole process is fascinating. It certainly has gotten a lot of people to look at the electoral vote as well.

The one item that I hope doesn't develop is the Florida legislature. I had been thinking that the perhaps the American people would come to realize that their vote counts. If the FL legislature comes into play in determining the electors, why should I vote?

Aside on terminology: Vacate, overturn and reverse; all of which generate a remand...Is the following sentence constructed correctly:

A higher Court may "overturn" a lower court's decision through a "vacated" or a "reversed" decision.

TIA,
