Gary,

Agreed 100% in particular her petition to stop the hand count which looks stupid.

I think the reason for that was that she asked for standards to be in place before the counting starts. Because here petition was rejected, you have 2 different standards used in Broward county alone (changed in the middle of counting, since the count was not producing enough votes for Gore), 2 different standards in Palm Beach counte (Only 1 of which may have been used ultimately) and a different standard in Volusia and Miami Dade county.

Ironically, if here petition was not overturned, Gore would benefit immensly, because the hand counting would acquire some respectability, and she would be under ethical pressure to give counties more leeway as far as the deadlines were concerned.

I think most people are completely misreading Harris.

While on the subject of misreading parties involved, I have to say in retrospect that I was probably too harsh on the Palm Beach county canvassing board. At least 2 of the 3 people were probably not dishonest people, contrary to my earlier assumptions. They proved to be incompetent, but that's another matter.

So here is my recap of my reading of the parties involved:

Honest and fair:
Palm Beach county canvassing board
Volusia county canvassing board
Secretary of State Harris
US Supreme Court
Leon County Judges Saul and Lee (SP?)

Puppets:
FL Supreme Court
Broward county canvassing board
FL AG Butterworth

Not enough evidence either way:
Miami-Dade county canvassing board
